This year, beauty collections, collaborations, and limited editions are continuing to raise the bar with creative launches. From playful character-themed products, to collections aiding charities and leading the way for diversity, BeautyMatter’s editorial team outlines the drops that broke through the noise.

“Unabashedly in my gourmand era, the Native x Girl Scouts collaboration spoke to my foodie self. Cookie-scented body products are my guilty pleasure and a nice way to unwind after a long day. The foodie theme continues with the Nails.Inc x McDonald’s partnership, which felt like a fitting brand extension, not to mention the fact that French fry decorated nails just sounds like a fun time. Meanwhile, the skincare ranges launched this quarter were all about delivering hard-hitting results, be it the Peptide Skinjection franchise from Peter Thomas Roth which claims to help one forego injectables for up to six months, or La Roche-Posay’s MelaB3 line with their multi-patented molecule, Melasyl. Consistency is key with skincare of course, but I don’t mind results that come on a little quicker either.”

Native x Girl Scouts of the USA: The deodorant brand has partnered with Girl Scouts as a first-time official licensee to create a bodycare collection inspired by the most popular Girl Scout cookie flavors. Caramel Coconut contains notes of caramel, coconut, and chocolate cookies, available as a regular deodorant ($13), plastic-free deodorant ($13), sensitive deodorant ($13), body spray ($14), body wash ($9), shampoo ($10), and conditioner ($10). Thin Mints has notes of mint and chocolate said to refresh the senses, available as body wash ($9), volumizing shampoo ($10), volumizing conditioner ($10), and two-in-one shampoo and conditioner ($10). Trefoils is inspired by the original Girl Scout cookie recipe with notes of vanilla, lemon, and buttercream—the scent is available as a regular deodorant ($13) and body wash ($9). Peanut Butter is a blend of vanilla, brown sugar, and, of course, peanut butter, and is available as regular deodorant ($13) and body wash ($9). Finally, Lemon combines notes of shortbread and tangy lemon and is available as a regular deodorant ($13) and body spray ($14).

Peter Thomas Roth: The skincare brand has launched a new franchise, Peptide Skinjection. Peptide Skinjection Amplified Wrinkle-Fix Serum ($65) is a noninvasive dual-purpose treatment that provides needle-free results and complements results from previous injectables by reducing the visibility of expression lines and preventing the look of future wrinkles. The product is formulated with amplified peptide solutions: 2% Matrixyl Morphomics, 5% Argireline Amplified, and 2% Matrixyl Synthe, boosted with 10% Argirelox, said to help avoid the need for injectable treatment by up to six months. Peptide Skinjection Moisture Infusion Cream ($55) helps restore a youthful look by plumping the skin with lightweight yet intense hydration. The product provides needle-free results and claims to help diminish fine lines and wrinkles with an overall decrease in eleven, marionette, and pout lines after one week. The cream contains 21 amplified peptides and neuropeptides to reduce the appearance of lines, gamma proteins to improve elasticity, and squalene, trehalose, and hyaluronic acid to leave the skin feeling nourished.

Nails.Inc x McDonald’s: The creative UK-based nail brand has partnered with McDonald’s for a menu-inspired collection. The limited-edition collection includes French Nails ($6.99)—almond-shaped nude press-on nails decorated with French fries, Red-and-Brown Mini Polish Duo ($8.99) including stickers of burgers, fries, and the classic McDonald’s golden arches, as well as the Shimmering Gold Hearts Nail Topper ($8), a gold-flake nail polish with the chain’s "I'm Lovin' It" slogan. Although McDonald's has previously dabbled in fashion collaborations, this collection marks the restaurant's first entry into the beauty industry.

La Roche-Posay: The skincare brand has debuted a new line of products containing a multi-patented molecule, Melasyl, created by L'Oréal. The Mela B3 line includes a serum and SPF product that work in tandem to diffuse the appearance of dark spots. Powered by Melasyl, the Mela B3 Serum was designed to treat hyperpigmentation and persistent dark spots while working to create a more even skin tone. The solution includes a 10% niacinamide pigment inhibitor, retinyl palmitate, LHA exfoliation, and carnosine antioxidant. The Mela B3 UV is a daily anti-aging moisturizer containing SPF 30, suitable for all skin types. The product was created to protect against visible signs of sun damage, formulated with Melasyl and 5% niacinamide to easily blend into the skin and smooth fine lines and rough texture.

“I fell in love with Trudon’s candles years ago (Abd El Khader and Ernesto are longtime favorites) so when they released a summer citrus-appropriate rendition and accompanying eau de parfum, I took note. As always the packaging looks incredibly chic as well. The Face Gym x Isamaya Ffrench facial device struck me as a part design object/part gua sha tool/part torture-device looking-prospect and the goth/industrialist enthusiast in me was drawn in. I am notoriously lazy about using facial devices but this could potentially get me to repent my sloth ways.”

Trudon x Emile Bouge: The Isla de Oro collection is a collaboration with perfumer Emilie Bouge, inspired by a sunscape on the horizon. Isla Eau de Parfum ($260) is a bright, zesty, and fresh accord, designed to be worn in the evening for a golden sunset moment. The scent has top notes of bergamot essence and grapefruit essence, middle notes of rosemary essence, bergamot flower essence, and crisp mint, as well as base notes of vetiver Haiti, java essence, amber, and musk. De Oro Classic Candle ($140) is a fresh accord representing orange blossom, created to mimic the crisp summer light with a sunny yellow gradient. The candle has top notes of petitgrain essence and bergamot essence, and heart notes of tuberose absolute, orange tree absolute, rosemary flower, gardenia, and jasmine.

Face Gym x Isamaya Ffrench: The facial fitness brand has partnered with makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench to launch Sculpt 01 ($60), a gua sha tool designed to complement any face workout routine. The tool can be used on the neck to stimulate lymphatic drainage and has a curved ball edge for contouring cheeks and nasolabial folds, a ball tip to target reflexology points for a natural lift, and a scalp claw to relieve scalp tension and promote overall scalp and hair health.

“As a fan of acne patches, I find the more playful the better, and Starface’s collaborations with Sanrio always bring good vibes. Byoma’s barrier-boosting skincare has always worked wonders for my troublesome skin, so I was extremely excited when I caught word of the brands bodycare range, and needless to say it didn’t disappoint. Sol de Janeiro’s SPF range made perfect sense to me, the brand successfully encapsulates everything needed for a beauty-focused summer, and Cheirosa  67 as a sunscreen is a product offering almost impossible to turn down. Lastly, Refy’s capsule collection stood out to me. I like that the beauty brand is now taking more of a lifestyle focus, solidifying its already successful branding, giving its consumers products for every area of their life.”

Starface x Sanrio: Marking the fifth partnership for the duo, Starface and Sanrio have released three new pimple patch compacts. The limited-edition collection includes the return of Hello Kitty and the introduction of two new friends, Bradtz-maru and Keoppi. Each character-branded compact includes 32 hydrocolloid pimple patches in a similar design ($16.99). Refills are also available ($12.99).

Byoma: The barrier protection skincare brand has expanded into bodycare. Hydrating Body Wash ($12.99) contains ceramides and skin-identical sphingolipids that deliver barrier-supportive actives in an oil-based formula. Tri-Ceramide Complex Hydrating Body Lotion ($13.99) contains a tri-ceramide complex, hydrating beta-glucan, and shea butter to replenish the skin and restore moisture. Brightening Body Wash ($12.99) is a radiance-enhancing body wash formulated with a prebiotic complex, niacinamide, and urea to improve hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tones. Brightening Body Lotion ($12.99) is a lightweight product that enhances cell turnover as well as overall skin texture and hyperpigmentation. Sensitive Body Wash ($12.99) contains a prebiotic complex, calming colloidal, oatmeal, and urea to soothe the skin and relieve symptoms of redness and irritation. Sensitive Body Lotion ($12.99) provides multilayer hydration to alleviate redness, irritation, and itchiness. Nourishing Body Oil ($14.99) is a therapeutic antioxidant blend of barrier lipids, jojoba, and sea buckthorn oil to illuminate and hydrate the skin while restoring the skin barrier. Smoothing Body Polish ($13.99) is a renewing body polish formulated with prebiotic complex, PHA, and pantheons; the physical and chemical exfoliants work together to treat rough and bumpy skin without stripping the skin's barrier. Smoothing Body Serum ($13.99) contains barrier lipids, succinic acid, and blue tansy to quickly and effectively treat body blemishes and breakouts.

Sol de Janeiro: The viral brand has expanded into SPF offerings with the launch of the Rio Radiance SPF collection. Rio Radiance SPF 50 ($36) is a spray that hydrates and refreshes the skin while providing protection against UVA/UVB rays, and is water resistant for up to 40 minutes. The product also contains niacinamide to even out skin tone, pongamia seed extract to act as a natural UV filter, and tanga extract, a potent antioxidant filled with vitamin C. Rio Radiance SPF 50 Body Lotion ($40) is a lightweight mineral body lotion that hydrates the skin and protects from UVA/UVB rays. The product is formulated with niacinamide, pongamia seed extract, and cupuaçu butter to lock in moisture and support skin elasticity. Rio Radiance SPF 50 Body Oil ($38) is a dry body oil that adds moisture while protecting the skin from environmental stressors. The product also contains pongamia seed extract, patauá oil to absorb into the skin quickly, and mica to give a radiant glow. Each product is scented with the brand's best-selling Cheroisa 87 scent.

Refy: The beauty and lifestyle brand founded by influencer Jess Hunt has launched a limited-edition capsule collection alongside a new mascara. Lash Sculpt ($24) features a unique applicator designed to fit every eye shape, separating lashes to create a sculpted, lifted, and lengthened look. The transfer-proof product includes the same ingredients as the brand’s popular Brow Sculpt, carnauba wax, candelilla wax, and vitamin E, which are said to nourish, strengthen, and add shine to individual hairs. Refy Curated ($12-$140) is a collection of high-quality lifestyle products crafted by Danielle Culligan, who was previously head of design at Christopher Kane. The collection includes beauty accessories such as a mirror and claw clip, as well as custom-made branded garments, a handbag, and jewelry.

Q2

“August’s collaboration with Taimi put a smile on my face this quarter. August is already a standout to me, I love the efforts the brand goes to in order to help everyone feel included regardless of who they are. In a world that is hard to navigate for Trans people, I appreciate the efforts of collaborations like this which bring essential education and uplift underrepresented communities. Charlotte Tilbury's neuroscent collection fits perfectly into fragrance collection as someone who likes to change things up almost daily. The idea of choosing a fragrance based on the mood you’re in when applying it just makes the process much more exciting. Tan-Luxe x Paris Hilton was another great offering to land this quarter. The quality of Tan-Luxe products always performs well, and the fun vibe Paris brings to the marketing of the product tops it off perfectly. Finally, Starface pops up for me again in Q2. I enjoy chopping and changing pimple patches, and the variation of pink offerings was something I couldn’t turn down.”

August x Taimi: The period care brand has collaborated with LGBTQ+ inclusive dating app Taimi to create a lineup of limited-edition period boxes ($29) to commemorate International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia. The boxes include a sample of all August tampon and pad options, including day pads, night pads, long-night pads, light tampons, regular tampons, and liners. Inside the box, consumers will be able to find a code for a free subscription to Taimi Silver, as well as information on Point of Pride, the charity to which all proceeds of the box will go, which focuses on providing life-changing healthcare access for trans people.

Charlotte Tilbury: The beauty brand has debuted six neuro scents developed with IFF's proprietary technology. The collection comes after Tilbury wanted to create mood-boosting fragrances that she believes can empower consumers in the same way that makeup and skincare can. The assortment of scents ($162) includes Love Frequency (floral and woody), More Sex (musk and leather), Cosmic Power (spicy amber), Magic Energy (woody citrus), Calm Bliss ( an aquatic floral), and Joyphoria (warm floral). A fragrance discovery set is also available for $31.

Tan-Luxe x Paris Hilton: The self-tanning brand has partnered with Paris Hilton to launch The Future Airbrush 360 Self-Tanning Mist ($49). The product is said to deliver a professional-grade tan from home while nourishing and hydrating the skin, improving elasticity and leaving a soothing feeling after application. The product utilizes Tan Luxe’s Triple Tan+ Technology, which allows the tan to penetrate deeper, develop faster, and last longer than most common tanning products. The mist is formulated with a blend of Tri & Tetra-Peptide combined with antioxidant-rich Hydra-Boost Complex that supports the skin's collagen production.

Starface: Pink Star is the latest addition to Starface’s collection of Hydro-Star hydrocolloid patches. The pack of 16 patches includes four varying shades, Jelly Bean, Bubblegum, Cotton Candy, and Fruit Snack. Each patch absorbs fluid and helps to reduce the appearance of inflammation to shrink spots overnight.
