The mission of the Business Training Institute Inc. (BTI) is to identify and train women, minorities, immigrants, and Veterans who are seeking business skills and technical assistance to start up or expand a business. Another key role of BTI is to assist women and minority clients to become a Certified Minority or Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE Certification). There are thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs in this area who need and want training and ongoing technical assistance to succeed in their business venture.
In the past two decades, BTI has created thousands of micro enterprise businesses that are so critical to growing our economy in some of the most economically distraught areas in New York State.
BTI implements a sixty-hour Small Business Training Program each year, ten hours of technical support assistance and additional comprehensive counseling to targeted clients. Clients develop their individualized Business Plan and they are assisted with their loan packages and other vital one-on-one business-related needs.
The training and technical assistance services have resulted in a steady increase of new start-up and expanded businesses that contribute to the growth of the economy. These efforts are key “grass-roots” initiatives needed to grow the State’s economy through a systematic and comprehensive plan of action.
